The president is in Ireland on Saturday to meet with the country's Prime Minister Micheál Martin and watch golf.
After meeting with Martin, Trump told reporters that it would be a "fantastic thing" if Ireland were reunited with Northern Ireland.
It will happen sooner or later, says Trump.
The European Tour golf tournament is taking place this weekend in Doonbeg, western Ireland, on a course owned by Donald Trump. The US president will present the trophy on Sunday, and will also take the opportunity to watch some golf.
But not everyone appreciates his visit to the country. According to an opinion poll published in the Irish Sunday Independent, 69 percent are critical of Trump's visit.
