Irish Media Outlets Evacuated After Email Bomb Threats, Armed Police Deployed at RTÉ

Irish media outlets are being evacuated following bomb threats sent by email. Armed police have been deployed to the offices of public service broadcaster RTÉ in Dublin.

RTÉ's premises have been evacuated, the journalists themselves report on their website. The schedules have been filled with pre-recorded material for the time being.

Evacuations have also taken place at The Irish Independent, the radio stations Newstalk and Today FM, and the television company Virgin Media. At this early stage, there is no indication that the threats are genuine.

The threats were sent the day after a series of fake bomb threats caused problems for air traffic in Europe, but it is unclear whether there is any connection.
