Nothing has happened that would give Ireland reason to reconsider its boycott this year, RTE writes in a statement.

In addition to Israel's war, RTE also criticizes the Israeli authorities in its statement for not allowing independent international journalists into Gaza.

Ireland boycotted this year's contest, along with Iceland, Slovenia, Spain and the Netherlands, in protest at Israel's participation. The Netherlands has also announced that it will boycott 2027. Ireland will also not broadcast the contest.

Next year's Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Bulgarian city of Burgas, May 11-15.
