The minister said at a press conference in Baghdad that the issues have been raised with oil cartel OPEC and major American oil companies such as Chevron, Exxon and Halliburton regarding investments.
Oil production is currently 1.4 million barrels per day, down from 4 million barrels per day when the US and Israel began the bombing war against Iran on February 28.
The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has essentially cut off all exports from Iraq's southern oil fields. However, around 200,000 barrels per day are being produced for domestic consumption and export via the Kirkuk-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
According to Khudair, this pipeline will be expanded to a capacity of 500,000 barrels per day.
