The war in the Middle East is already creating problems ahead of the World Cup this summer.

The Iraqi Football Association has asked FIFA to move the playoff for a World Cup spot to later this spring, The Guardian reports.

On March 31, Iraq will face the winner of the Bolivia vs. Suriname match in Mexico. The winner will enter the same World Cup group as France and Senegal.

Many Iraqi players are stuck in Iraq because the country's airspace has been closed amid the war involving Iran.

Iraq wants FIFA to allow Bolivia and Suriname to meet as planned, but for the decisive match to be played shortly before the World Cup, which starts on June 11.
