Before the ceasefire, Iran submitted a ten-point plan that US President Donald Trump considers "a good starting point for further talks."

"Two weeks gives time to finalize and complete the deal," Trump wrote on social media.

Iran is providing its own version of the ten-point plan's contents. The country's National Security Council, through state-controlled media, presents it as Iran demanding major concessions from the United States.

Different versions

According to Iran, the plan contains demands that the country has made before: including that Iran be exempt from all sanctions, receive guarantees of lasting peace, and be allowed to continue to control shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

"Iran will accept an end to the war only when the details have been finalized, provided that the ten points are accepted," the National Security Council announced, according to state-run Press TV.

The state media's report in Farsi also includes a paragraph stating that Iran will be allowed to continue enriching uranium, which is not included in the version presented in English.

Donald Trump denies that claim:

"It will be taken care of completely; otherwise I would not have agreed to it," he said in a telephone interview with AFP.

Conflicting statements

At this stage, there is no list of demands that has been agreed by both Iran and the US or Israel, so it is not clear what conditions the parties are assuming in the ceasefire agreement.

According to information in several media outlets, it is proposed that Iran and Oman, which are located on the other side of the Strait of Hormuz, coordinate control over the cargo that passes through. Donald Trump wrote on social media that the United States will also help there and described it as "very positive."

Iran also says it is demanding an end to Israel's war against the Shiite movement Hezbollah, in an ongoing invasion of Lebanon. Israel has stressed that the ceasefire does not cover that fighting.

Mediating Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has invited the warring parties to talks in the Pakistani capital Islamabad starting on Friday.
