Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has met with Huthi leader Mohammed Abdulsalam in Oman's capital Muscat, the minister's office announced.
This is the latest in a series of diplomatic meetings in the region following Israel's threats to avenge an Iranian drone attack on October 1. Last week, Araghchi visited Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Abdelsalam is the spokesperson and chief negotiator for the Huthi movement. The Huthi movement in Yemen is allied with both Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah. During the Gaza War, it has fired at Israel from Yemen on several occasions and attacked ships in the waters off Yemen when they were deemed to have some form of connection to Israel.
