"It is better that we end the war now when we are in a position of strength and dignity and when the whole world recognizes our victory," Pezeshkian said during a meeting on Friday.
The president also said that the United States is “hated around the world.”
The statement came the day after US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with "economic warfare", prompting Iran's Foreign Ministry to call it "economic terrorism" and a "crime against humanity".
