Araghchi begins his trip on Friday, and the visits are focused on "bilateral consultations and discussions on ongoing regional developments, as well as the latest situation surrounding the imposed war waged by the US and Israel against Iran," according to the state-controlled Iranian news agency IRNA.
The trip may be a sign that peace talks with the United States regarding the Iran war could be held over the weekend, but neither the United States nor Iran have confirmed that such direct talks will be held.
Pakistani officials said earlier on Friday that Araghchi is expected to arrive in the capital Islamabad over the weekend, according to the AP.
On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump announced that his country is extending a previously agreed ceasefire, but that the US blockade of Iranian ports will continue until Iran's "fragmented" leadership can unite.
The Iran War began with the US and Israel's attack on Tehran on February 28.
