The nation's only competitor Aboulfazl Khatibi Mianaei was supposed to compete in two cross-country skiing events but is now prevented from traveling because of the situation in Iran following US and Israeli attacks.

"Since the conflict began, the IPC and the Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee have worked tirelessly behind the scenes with Iran and its National Ski Federation to find alternative routes for the Iranian delegation’s safe passage to the Games. However, with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the risk to human life is too high," said Andrew Parsons, IPC President.
