"Any country that participates in imposing economic restrictions against us will be considered an enemy," Mohsen Rezaee, head of Iran's National Security Council, said in an interview with state-controlled television on Saturday.

The statement comes after US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with "economic warfare" and new sanctions.

Iran has previously called the US plan “economic terrorism.” Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has dismissed it as a diversion from the US’s high “debt and rising interest costs.”

According to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the goal is to cause the Iranian regime to collapse in the “largest coordinated economic isolation in world history.”

Mohsen Rezaee also said that Iran is ready to attack broadly against different types of targets.

"So far we have only targeted military bases, but if they want to impose economic sanctions on us, the United States has oil companies and economic enterprises around Iran and elsewhere, and we will strike them," he says.
