Emirates and Etihad airlines announced that they will begin limited flights from Monday evening. According to Bloomberg, the companies say that this is mainly for evacuation purposes.

Emirates has five scheduled special departures from Dubai on Monday and said that "all other departures remain cancelled." Etihad will evacuate stranded passengers no earlier than Tuesday, but it also pointed out that all regular departures are cancelled until further notice.

Thousands of passengers have been stranded at airports in the region in the wake of the war in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Germany announced that it is planning immediate evacuations from Saudi Arabia and Oman. Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul told German media that the government is discussing with Lufthansa how the flights should be organized.
