Due to the Iran-Iraq war, the Iranian national team has been based in Mexico, even though all of the country's matches have been played in the United States. American authorities have only allowed the team to be in the United States for a few hours after each match, and the restrictions have often changed at the last minute.

Now Ghalenoei states that he has received information that the rules have changed ahead of the final group stage match.

"They said, 'In Seattle you can do whatever you want, you can act the way you want and you can come earlier,'" Ghalenoei said at a press conference, without specifying where the information came from.

However, he is dissatisfied with how the issue was handled previously.

Why didn't they let us come earlier for the first two games too?
