Iran to declare new restricted zone outside Strait of Hormuz

This was stated by Mohsen Rezaei, military adviser to Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

In the coming days, a prohibited zone will be declared outside the Strait of Hormuz, Rezaei said, according to Iranian state media.

He added that the zone will extend from the US blockade line against Iranian shipping outside the strait and into the Persian Gulf.

"All ships travelling in this zone will be placed on (Iran's) sanctions list," Rezaei said.
