Israel and Iran attacked each other overnight Friday. The Israeli military has repeatedly urged the public to seek shelter because of incoming missiles from Iran. The military wrote on Telegram that Israel is responding by attacking targets in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

The war expanded even further geographically when two medium-range missiles were fired from Iran at the British-American military base of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, The Wall Street Journal reports. Neither missile reportedly hit the base.

Iran has repeatedly attacked energy facilities and infrastructure in the Persian Gulf region, causing fires and damage. New attacks on both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have been confirmed by the respective countries, but without any reports of damage to people or infrastructure.

The United Arab Emirates has also been the subject of attacks and now Iran has issued a stark warning to the UAE.

The Iranian military, according to state media, says that “further aggression” on the islands of Greater Tunb and Abu Musa, which lie between the countries, will be met with attacks on Ras al-Khaimah. It is unclear what type of aggression is meant.

Ras al-Khaimah is an emirate on the Emirati mainland and is the closest city to Greater Tunb and Abu Musa.

Both Iran and the United Arab Emirates claim the islands, which are located in strategically important locations for oil traffic in the Persian Gulf.
