The US delegation in Pakistan will be led by Vice President JD Vance, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has confirmed.
Vance will be accompanied by envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, according to Leavitt, who also said the talks will begin on Saturday.
But mediating Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has invited the warring parties to talks in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, starting on Friday.
