According to the Tasnim news agency, the regime has not yet responded to the letter. The state-run IRNA reports that Iran “stresses the necessity” for the US to meet the conditions it has set for entering into any talks.
The American outlet Axios reports, citing sources, that the letter was sent to Iran’s security chief, Mohsen Rezaee, and said Tehran must be prepared to discuss its nuclear program if it wants to avoid new attacks.
There have recently been a flurry of reports that Washington may attack Iran again.
The last time the United States carried out attacks on the country was in early September.
