Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters is warning oil tankers not to take routes other than those approved by Iran. Failure to follow the rules will be met with an "immediate and forceful response," it said in a statement on Thursday. The developments come after the US on Wednesday brought together several Middle Eastern countries for discussions on the Strait of Hormuz in Bahrain. The meeting participants “reaffirmed their commitment to the free flow of trade” through the strait, according to Al Jazeera.
