"The Strait of Hormuz is under Iranian command, not CENTCOM's," Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi told X, referring to the US military command for the region.
The meeting took place in Bahrain and brought together the United States and 11 countries in the Middle East, Al Jazeera reports. The countries are said to have officially “reaffirmed their commitment to the free flow of trade” through the strait.
"A military summit in Bahrain cannot create law and order and security in the Persian Gulf," Gharibabadi further writes.
