Iran has no plans for new talks with the US, foreign minister says

Despite growing concerns that the war could resume, there are no plans for new talks between Tehran and Washington, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.

There are currently no plans for meetings with US representatives, and all speculation about disagreements is media fabrication, Araghchi said in an interview with Qatar-based Al Jazeera, adding that Iran sees no reason for new talks “under the current circumstances.”

The foreign minister confirmed that a letter from US Vice President JD Vance had been received and that its contents had been discussed at high-level meetings.

If Washington’s goal with the message was to sow division, it would mark another setback, Araghchi said, but he still welcomed Washington’s efforts to remain open to dialogue.
