Majid Mosayebi was sentenced for attempting to provide "sensitive information" to Israel's intelligence service Mossad.

The man "was hanged this morning after having gone through the entire criminal process and after his sentence had been confirmed by the Supreme Court", writes Mizan.

Iran has arrested several people suspected of spying for Israel since the country attacked Iran on the night of Friday the 13th of June.

According to a spokesperson for the judiciary, three arrests were made through "the population's rapid presence and its help to intelligence services, law enforcement agencies and the judiciary".

One of them is, according to the spokesperson, a European citizen.

As recently as Monday, it was reported that another man – also accused of spying on behalf of Mossad – had been executed by hanging.
