"Currently, the Iranian authorities are informing us of attacks on two other facilities, namely the fuel enrichment facility in Fordow and in Isfahan, (where) a facility for the production of fuel plates, a facility for fuel production, a uranium conversion ... exists", says Grossi, who is the Director General of the UN's atomic energy agency IAEA to the Security Council.

IAEA is monitoring Iran's nuclear energy program.

Natanz damaged

According to Iranian authorities, the damage to the facilities is limited, says Grossi. Earlier on Friday, IAEA announced that it had not measured increased radioactivity.

Grossi also reports that Iranian authorities have confirmed that parts of a facility in the city of Natanz have been destroyed in an Israeli attack that took place on Friday morning. Among other things, an important part of the facility above ground is said to have been destroyed in the attack.

Israel: Necessary action

Prior to the crisis meeting at the UN headquarters in New York, Israel's UN ambassador Danny Danon said that the attacks on Iran were "necessary action".

He claimed that Iran's actions in recent months have "taken a drastic turn" and that the country has "strengthened its" capabilities to be able to develop nuclear weapons.

He also says that there have been reports that Iran was considering "invading" Israel.

During the meeting, Iran's envoy Amir Iravani claimed that 78 people had been killed and over 320 injured in Israeli attacks on Friday against Iran. According to Iravani, the majority of the victims are civilians.
