Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated late Wednesday that the Strait of Hormuz "from our perspective - is not completely closed - but closed to our enemies." On state television, the foreign minister stated that Iran's military is already "offering safe passage" to ships from countries that are on good terms with Tehran.
Leading shipping publication Lloyd's List reports that inspected ships that followed a route approved by Iran have paid two million dollars - equivalent to over 18 million kronor - in fees.
However, one ship is reported to have been rejected for not having “met established protocol”.
