Three people are missing in the coastal city of Haifa after an Iranian missile bypassed Israeli air defenses and hit a residential building in the city, police chief Boaz Smocha said. They are likely a couple in their 60s and their son.
In addition, rescue workers report that 24 people were injured, either at the scene or on their way to shelters.
One of them, an elderly man, was seriously injured after a piece of concrete hit him, reports the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
An infant suffered minor injuries.
According to Israel, a rocket was also fired from Yemen, probably by the Iran-backed Houthi movement, toward Israeli territory.
Iran has also attacked Kuwaiti power and desalination plants with drones, as well as a government building, causing "significant" damage, according to Kuwait.
UAE air defenses intercepted Iranian drones and missiles targeting industrial facilities. Authorities said the port of Khawr Fakkan was one of the targets.
