Iran's airspace has reopened after being closed for much of the night. However, Germany warns aircraft should still avoid Iranian airspace.

The airspace over Iran was closed to commercial aircraft for a total of five hours overnight Thursday, amid increased concerns about military clashes between the United States and Iran.

On Thursday morning, both domestic and international flights resumed.

However, several international airlines had already decided not to fly over Iran before the airspace was closed, due to the increased tensions. On Thursday, German authorities urged civilian airlines to continue to avoid Iranian airspace until February 10, AFP reports.

A number of countries have urged their citizens to leave Iran as soon as possible. It is possible to leave the country by air or by land to Turkey, either by train or by car.
