Iran and the USA will hold a new round of negotiations about the Iranian nuclear energy program in Rome on Saturday. Before that, on Friday, a meeting with France, Germany, and the United Kingdom is awaited ahead of Saturday's negotiations, according to Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The nuclear energy negotiations are taking place with Oman as a mediator. Oman has previously also hosted two meetings on the issue, one in the capital Muscat and one in Rome.
The negotiations aim to curb Tehran's ambition to develop its own nuclear weapons, possibly in exchange for the sanctions against the country being lifted.
