Indonesia stopped Israeli athletes from participating in the World Championship in artistic gymnastics. Now, the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) board recommends that all international associations refrain from arranging sports events or meetings in Indonesia.

”All eligible athletes, teams and sports leaders must be able to participate in international competitions and events without any form of discrimination from the host country.”, writes the board in a statement.

The Indonesian government stated that they denied Israeli gymnasts visas in support of Palestinians.

The IOC has previously criticized the decision and now announces that Indonesia will not be allowed to host the Olympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, Olympic events and conferences until the government provides "sufficient guarantees" that all participants will be granted access to the country regardless of nationality.

The board also writes that other international associations should follow suit and states that the Indonesian Olympic Committee has been invited to the IOC's headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, to discuss the matter.
