"The investigation has shown that the bus driver suffered a sudden illness that was not self-inflicted and that he could not have foreseen. He has therefore been completely ruled out as a suspect," says senior prosecutor Carolina Frohm, who was the head of the preliminary investigation, in a press release.
The accident occurred on a Friday afternoon in November in the Östermalm district of central Stockholm, when the bus crashed into a bus shelter. According to the investigation, the bus did not have any technical problems and was not exceeding the speed limit.
