Two people died and two others were seriously injured when the Norwegian cargo ship Misje Verde crashed into a pleasure boat off Tjörn in July. A few minutes later, the ship passed another pleasure boat at close range.

According to a status report from the Swedish Accident Investigation Board, both boats were visible on Misje Verde's radar some time before the collision.

The same information was provided by the prosecutor in connection with the arrest of the cargo ship's captain. The pilot who was on board is also suspected of the offence.

According to the Swedish Accident Investigation Board, the cargo ship was travelling at about 12 knots when it crashed into the pleasure boat.

"An important task for the investigation is to answer the question of why they did not notice each other," the commission writes.
