Real Sociedad supporters chanted "die" slogans against Real Madrid defender Raúl Asencio in the semifinal of the Spanish Cup.
The referee, José María Sánchez, writes in his match report.
During the match, the referee stopped the game, and messages were displayed on the big screens and through the loudspeakers, urging the supporters to stop the slogans.
Shortly after the interruption, Real Madrid's coach, Carlo Ancelotti, substituted the 22-year-old defender.
"I think no one likes it when an arena shouts "die" at you. He was affected by it," says the coach.
Raúl Asencio is being investigated by a Spanish court for having forwarded a sex video without the consent of those involved. The incident allegedly took place in the summer of 2023.
Real Madrid won Wednesday's match, which is the first of two, with 1–0.
