When police and bomb experts arrived at the residence in the Singerei district on Wednesday after a tip-off, they discovered that parts of the drone had been disassembled.
The drone was found to contain no explosives, but police are urging the public not to touch – or attempt to transport – fallen drones or similar objects.
According to the police, it was a Russian so-called Gerbera drone, manufactured for reconnaissance and signaling missions but also “kamikaze missions.” It is unclear where it came from, but Russia has repeatedly used the drones in Ukraine.
Since the outbreak of full-scale war in 2022, Russian drones have repeatedly violated Moldovan airspace.
