Inter striker Mehdi Taremi will miss the Club World Championship in the USA. The star is stuck in Tehran due to the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel.
Iran's airports have been closed after the attacks between Iran and Israel over the past two days.
This means that the Iranian national team player could not take Saturday's flight as planned to join his teammates at Inter, who are in Los Angeles.
Taremi will therefore miss Inter's opening match against Monterrey on Wednesday and Italian media report that the 32-year-old will miss the remaining matches as well, even if Iranian airports reopen again.
Mehdi Taremi came to Inter last year from Portuguese Porto.
