We have a fairly clear picture of the sequence of events, says the police's press spokesperson Tobias Ahlén Svalbro.
But so much more concrete the police in the current situation do not want to be. They do not want to risk affecting the investigation and the witnesses who remain to be heard. Nor about what the motive could be or if the one who shot was after a specific person.
More interrogations
– We have held a large number of interrogations, says Tobias Ahlén Svalbro but adds that more are waiting.
According to information from the prosecution authority to TT, no new arrests have been made. The suspect who was arrested after the shooting has turned 14 years old. He is suspected of attempted murder and serious weapons offenses. The case is handled with greater secrecy and special procedures because he is under 15 years old.
The police will be out a lot in Gävle and the rest of the county and a mobile police station in the form of a bus will be set up on Stortorget in Gävle. There, the residents will be able to get information about the police's work with the case but also be able to provide tips or tell about something they have seen.
It was just before two o'clock in the night towards Saturday that the police were alerted about bangs at the current location, Södra Kungsgatan, and that there were injured people. When they arrived, it was found that six young people, some under 18 years old, had gunshot wounds in the lower body. Three of them received help from the staff at a pub a short distance from where the shooter, the young boy, is said to have stood and shot before he disappeared into a side street.
Shot crawled
17-year-old Elsa, one of the injured, tells about the drama for Arbetarbladet.
I crawled towards my friends. I didn't realize I had been shot, she says to the newspaper.
She says she was standing and waiting with friends on the sidewalk for a ride home.
I was hit above the knees on both legs. The bullets went straight through the flesh. It's nice that it didn't hit any joints or so, says Elsa who was able to leave the hospital on Saturday.
On Saturday, the police stated at a press conference that they had also interrogated the then 13-year-old boy and that he is being taken care of by the social services because he is so young.
