Resistance groups in Ethiopia have joined forces and are fighting against the central government.
Rebel forces led by the Tigrayan People's Liberation Front (TPLF) have seized control of airports in Tigray and launched attacks in other regions this week, saying they are back in a "full-scale war" with the federal government.
The AFP news agency has been unable to contact sources in Tigray by phone on Friday, as Netblocks reports internet disruptions.
In Ethiopia's previous civil war, between 2020 and 2022, hundreds of thousands of people were killed, according to analysts.
