"International traffic was affected to some extent by the situation in the Middle East. Overall, however, developments remained positive," writes Swedavia, the state-owned airport operator, in a press release.

A total of 1.9 million passengers flew from Stockholm Arlanda Airport in March, of whom just over 1.5 million travelled abroad. 384,000 passengers flew from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, of whom 341,000 travelled abroad.

In total, the number of air travellers increased by 6 percent in March, to 2.6 million, at Swedavia's ten airports.
