Online bank Intergiro has applied for bankruptcy, according to a press release.

In June, the Financial Supervisory Authority revoked Intergiro's permit, as there was a risk that the bank's operations could be used for money laundering and terrorist financing.

The revoked permit, together with a "protracted ownership problem", is stated to be behind the bankruptcy application. The bank's operations are to be wound up by September 19 at the latest.

Intergiro has 111 employees.
