Fans of Inter will be banned from away matches for almost two months following the weekend's scandal. The decision was announced by Italy's Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi.

A ban has been imposed over the chaos surrounding the Serie A match between Cremonese and Inter, writes the newspaper Repubblica. Pyrotechnics were thrown by away fans and a firecracker hit Cremonese goalkeeper Emil Audero.

The away matches affected are against Sassuolo, Lecce and Fiorentina. No tickets will be sold to residents of Lombardy for these matches, according to the decision.

However, the ban on Inter fans does not apply to the Milan derby on March 8, when Milan is the home team.
