The German giant club Bayern München had a 1-2 deficit ahead of the quarterfinal return at San Siro in Milan.
After 52 minutes, it was equalized – then Harry Kane scored the leading goal behind Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer, and with 2-2 overall, it was set for an extension.
Meets Barcelona
The Germans' joy did not last long. Six minutes later, Argentine Lautaro Martínez scored a lucky goal on a corner. Just three minutes later, the turnaround was complete.
Then, home defender Benjamin Pavard – who has won both Bundesliga and Champions League with Bayern München – headed in 2-1 on a right corner.
Although Eric Dier equalized to 2-2 with a quarter of an hour left to play, Inter withstood the away team's onslaught and is clear for the semifinal against Barcelona via 4-3 overall.
Arsenal Held On
Arsenal had a 3-0 lead with them from the meeting in London to the return against the reigning champion Real Madrid.
As early as the 13th minute, Bukayo Saka got the chance to kill off all tension from the penalty spot, but Arsenal star Saka kicked a weak penalty that Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois could save.
In the 65th minute, however, Saka got his revenge when he ran through deep and scored the leading goal. Just two minutes later, Vinícius Júnior equalized, but Real Madrid could not respond with a miraculous comeback at home on the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. In added time, Gabriel Martinelli also made it 2-1 for the London club.
Arsenal thus eliminated the "most champions" from Spain with 5-1 overall and now awaits Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinal.
The semifinals will be played on April 29-30 with returns on May 6-7. The final at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, will be decided on May 31.
