Most of them, 35 people, are reported to have been killed in Gaza City where Israel is stepping up its attacks with the goal of taking full control of the city.

The Israeli military announced that it will continue its "extensive attacks on terrorist infrastructure and high-rise buildings", attacks described as preparations for "the next step in the operation".

The UN has stated that there is full-blown famine in Gaza City and has warned that Israel's offensive risks exacerbating the already acute situation.

The United Kingdom, France, and Germany urged Israel in a joint statement on Friday to "immediately" cease the offensive, and adds that it causes "mass displacement of civilians, civilian casualties and destruction of vital infrastructure".
