According to the country's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Intel will invest an additional amount equivalent to approximately two billion Swedish kronor in its operations in Malaysia.
Intel has in recent years ploughed large sums of money into projects in the country, and a factory worth around 27 billion Swedish kronor is said to be completed soon.
At the same time, the US government, which took a stake in Intel this summer, has emphasized that it wants to see more investments in the US among semiconductor companies.
