“That doesn't mean they aren't seriously injured and still need care,” says chief physician Anders Damm-Hejmdal of Hovedstaden's emergency response to Danish TV2.
The collision between two local trains took place near Hillerød at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday. A total of 17 people were injured so seriously that they required hospital treatment.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Danish Accident Investigation Board. It may take a few weeks before there are indications of whether human, technical, or organizational error is behind the accident, Lokaltog's head of safety believes.
Salvage work was underway at the site on Friday.
