According to recent preliminary figures from Eurostat, inflation amounted to 2.5 percent, the highest figure since the summer of 2024. The figure is slightly lower than the advance forecast, which forecast an increase of 2.6 percent.

The increase was expected and follows reports of rising inflation in major economies such as Germany and France.

In France, the HICP consumer price index increased by 1.9 percent in March compared with the same month the previous year, and was also in line with the market's advance forecast.
