Compared with August, prices rose most sharply in September for clothing and footwear, up 2.4 percent. There was also a clear monthly increase in prices for housing, electricity, gas and fuel, which rose 1.7 percent.
Furniture, household equipment and routine home maintenance rose 1.3 percent.
Prices for healthcare and transport rose 0.9 percent in September compared with August. Hotel room and restaurant prices rose 0.7 percent.
The overall rise in prices was dampened by declines in food and non-alcoholic beverages, down 0.8 percent compared with August, and insurance and financial services, down 1.3 percent.
Overall, consumer prices rose 0.9 percent in September compared with August, according to Statistics Sweden (the national statistics agency). This followed a 0.3 percent decline in August.
On an annual basis, CPI inflation was 1.1 percent in September, up from 0.3 percent in August.
