Inflation fell sharply to 0.8 percent in April on the CPIF measure, according to definitive figures from Statistics Sweden. In March, the inflation rate - the annual price changes - was 1.6 percent.
"In April, we saw a broad decline in food prices. In total, food and non-alcoholic beverages fell by 5.5 percent from March to April," said Caroline Neander, price statistician at Statistics Sweden, in a press release.
The drop in food prices is explained by a VAT reduction.
Fuel costs rose 8 percent from March to April, with diesel contributing the most. Over the year, fuel prices have risen 29 percent.
