Production is focused on energy-efficient semiconductors for data centers, electric cars and robots.

Production capacity is set to start increasing towards the end of 2027 and continue to grow through 2034, according to the plan.

Almost a third of the investment comes from EU support aimed at strengthening Europe’s chip industry.

The factory opened in 2021, following an investment equivalent to almost 18 billion SEK.

Infineon is one of this year's top performers on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, up 33 percent since the start of the year.
