The woman was reportedly promoted several times within UEFA in a short period of time and given a pay rise. UEFA's then-president Michel Platini is said to have confronted Infantino about the relationship, and the decision was then made that she would leave the job.

According to the British newspaper The Telegraph, the woman is said to have received the equivalent of millions of Swedish kronor in severance pay.

Infantino has been married to Leena al Ashqar since 2001 and has four daughters.

Uefa has confirmed that a payment was made to the woman at the time but claims that it was for training, among other things, according to Sky News.

Fifa and Gianni Infantino deny the allegations.
