The U.S. president has not yet appeared at any match during the World Cup, not even at the United States' opener, but he will be at the World Cup final on July 19 in New Jersey.
"We will enjoy the final with the president and present the trophy to the winner together, of course," Infantino, FIFA president, said on a television program, according to The Guardian and others.
When asked more directly whether Infantino believes he and Trump should award the World Cup trophy together, the FIFA president replied:
Of course. We are together all the time.
The two presented the trophy to Chelsea, who won the Club World Cup in the United States last summer after defeating Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
