The police were called to the hospital Friday night. The parents were arrested at the scene and are now being held on probable-cause suspicion of aggravated assault.
"There was no immediate danger to the child's life. Despite the circumstances, the child is doing well but remains in the hospital for aftercare. Otherwise, I cannot comment on the investigation, which is at an early stage," says Assistant Prosecutor Nora Fatih in a press release from the Prosecution Authority.
The father is also suspected of drug offenses.
