The Purchasing Managers' Index for the manufacturing industry fell to 53.6 in June. This can be compared with the revised 54.1 in May.

The market had on average expected a Purchasing Managers' Index of 54.0 in June.

An index above 50 indicates increased activity in the sector.

"Despite the downturn in June, the recovery in Swedish industry continues to accelerate faster than in euro countries. At the same time, production plans have become more expansive, which in the long run can create new job opportunities in Swedish industry", says Jörgen Kennemar, economist at Swedbank, in a press release.
