Industrial orders fall 7.9% in December as export orders drop 8.7%

Industrial orders fell 7.9 percent in December compared to November, according to seasonally adjusted figures from Statistics Sweden (SCB).

Compared to December 2024, this represents an increase of 6.8 percent.

"The development in total order intake was positive in the domestic market while it was negative in the export market. Compared with November, the domestic market increased by 1.1 percent and the export market decreased by 8.7 percent, both in seasonally adjusted figures," Statistics Sweden said in a press release.

In a separate statement, Statistics Sweden said production in the industrial sector increased by 5.1 percent in December compared with November. Compared with the corresponding period in 2024, the increase was 4.2 percent.

For the service sector, production in December increased by 0.8 percent compared with November and by 4.7 percent compared with December 2024.
