New York led with 14 points when less than three minutes of regular match time remained, but Aaron Nesmith took Indiana back into the game with a number of late three-pointers.

When time was running out and Indiana was trailing by two points, Tyrese Haliburton then equalized with a shot that bounced on the rim – and then went in just as regular match time expired. Andrew Nembhard then made the decisive goal in overtime.

We have played many matches where it feels like the opposing team had control. It's not over until it's over, says Tyrese Haliburton after the match.

The next match between the two teams is played on Saturday night, Swedish time. New York coach Tom Thibodeau wants to look ahead.

Of course, you get disappointed when you fail. We need to look at the match footage, make our corrections and then we need to load up quickly for match two, he says.

Corrected: In an earlier version, inaccuracies were reported about the match. Correct is that it is a semifinal in the NBA playoffs.
